Authorities say they continue to follow leads in the cases of two killings within about 24 hours of each other in New Kensington and Arnold.

New Kensington police are still searching for whoever fatally shot Anthone Williams, 31, of Arnold early Wednesday evening in a vacant part of the city’s East Ken Manor housing complex.

“There is no suspect at this time, and we’re still trying to develop leads,” New Kensington police Chief Bob Deringer said Saturday.

Meanwhile, Arnold police are searching for 31-year-old Mario Matthew Gatti, a suspect in the shooting death of Michael Coover Jr., 33, of Brackenridge. Coover was killed in an apartment in the 200 block of 17th Street on Thursday afternoon.

“We’re following leads in both cases,” Westmoreland County Detective John Clark said Saturday.

Court records show that Gatti, originally from Uniontown, has previous convictions for offenses that include drug possession with intent to deliver, resisting arrest, drug-delivery conspiracy and receiving stolen property.
