New Kensington is planning to resurface parts of five roads this year.

The city is seeking sealed bids for the work until 10 a.m. May 3, when they will be opened and read in the meeting room at city hall.

The contract calls for milling and paving about 7,630 square yards of roads.

The roads that will be improved are Campbell Avenue, from Adams Street to the top of the hill; Kennedy Avenue, from Wincanton Drive to to the top of the hill; Orient Way, from Anderson Street to Franklin Street; and Strawn Avenue, from Park Avenue to Seventh Street and from Seventh Street to Elm Street.

Construction is expected to begin in late June and be finished by early July.

Copies of bidding forms, specifications and other contract documents are on file at Alpha Engineering in Lower Burrell.
