As Tropical Storm Nicole rages through Florida, Western Pennsylvanians can expect to see some rainfall from the storm.
Between Friday morning and Saturday morning, Western Pennsylvania will get 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Myranda Fullerton.
Fullerton said the rainfall is “much needed,” but a lot is expected in a short period of time.
The precipitation could potentially cause some flooding in low-lying areas, areas with poor drainage and areas near a creek, she said.
If flooding does occur, Fullerton advised people to be mindful, avoid flooded roads and heed road closures.

The forecast is impacting Veterans’ Day observances scheduled for Friday.
Parades planned in New Kensington/Arnold and Lower Burrell have been canceled.
The Lower Burrell Veterans of Foreign Wars on Wildlife Lodge Road will hold a service at 12:30 p.m.
Colder temps follow
Remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole will move out of the region by Saturday morning because of a cold front coming in from the northern plains, Fullerton said. That cold front will put an end to recent warm weather as temperatures are expected to drop to the 30s and 40s by Sunday.
“We’ve had a nice stretch of mild weather that seems to be coming to an end after this cold front,” Fullerton said. “It’s going to be a noticeable cool down.”
The weather system was at hurricane level when it made landfall early Thursday on the east coast of Florida but was quickly downgraded to a tropical storm.
