West Deer police and fire trucks led about 50 cars filled with graduating Deer Lakes High School seniors in a parade through the residential streets surrounding the high school on Saturday, May 2, 2020. Parents and community members decorated yards, held signs and cheered them as they drove past. The Deer Lakes cheerleaders staked 116 signs celebrating each of the seniors outside the school’s main entrance in West Deer. The seniors won’t have a commencement ceremony this year, so the parade was held to make the milestone memorable.
