Firefighters responded to a fire at a home along Victoria Avenue in Arnold on Wednesday.

No one was injured in a fire Wednesday morning along Arnold’s Victoria Avenue.

Arnold Volunteer Engine Co. No. 2 Fire Chief Keith Dziobak said no one was home when crews responded to the fire in the 1500 block of Victoria Avenue at about 7 a.m.

The fire appeared to start on the first floor of the home.

“They got it knocked down quick,” he said.

There are two apartment units in the two-story home, but the bottom floor was vacant and undergoing remodeling. Dziobak believes the fire started in what would be the living room of the first-floor apartment.

The fire marshal is investigating.

Dziobak said flames were confined to one room but other areas of the home are likely to have smoke and water damage.

Dozens of volunteers responded from local fire units, including Arnold 1 and 2, New Kensington 1 and 2 and Lower Burrell.
