East Deer residents are not expected to see a township tax increase in 2026.
According to Commissioner’s Chairman Tony Taliani, revenue is projected to be just under $1.7 million and expenditures are expected to fall just over $1.5 million.
“We’re very proud there was no tax increase,” Taliani said. “(The budget) fits our goals, which are to keep costs down for residents and make it affordable to live here.”
Taliani said the budget is projected to include various one-time expenditures, including a $70,000 software package for the township and a $150,000 backhoe.
With millage projected to stay at 4.65 mills, a homeowner with the median assessed property value of $49,900 would pay around $232 on their tax bill.
The budget is expected to be finalized and voted on at the commissioners’ Dec. 11 meeting.
