Frazer property owners won’t see a township real estate tax increase in 2024.

The township supervisors on Tuesday approved a $1.13 million budget for next year, said Township Secretary Lori Ziencik.

The millage rate will remain at 3.5 mills. A Frazer property owner with the median property tax assessment of $68,400 will once again pay about $239.

The 2024 budget is about $148,000 less than this year’s.

Ziencik has said the municipality anticipates spending less in legal fees associated with the tax increment financing (TIF) plan associated with the Pittsburgh Mills shopping mall.

The township this summer initiated a sheriff’s sale on the property. But days before the sale was scheduled to take place, the mall owner, Namdar Realty Group, paid the roughly $11 million owed to the TIF bondholders, therefore canceling the sale.

Frazer allocated $150,000 in legal fees associated with the TIF in 2023. That number is only $30,000 next year.

The biggest share in the budget is $650,000 for public safety, which is a $20,000 increase from this year.

Some line painting and storm sewer replacements are included in the budget.

No major road projects are planned.
