The Leechburg Area High School Class of 2020 couldn’t enjoy normal festivities as a result of social distancing rules bought on by the worldwide covid-19 pandemic.

But that didn’t stop people from Leechburg, West Leechburg and Gilpin coming out to give them a parade just before they graduated Thursday night. The parade was led by the police and fire departments from all three municipalities.

The parade route wound through several Leechburg streets before the seniors headed to Riverside Drive-In Parks Township, where commencement was held, with social distancing observed. Photos of the seniors were projected on the drive-in’s big screen.
