Some Oakmont residents have received a letter from the USGA detailing parking changes during next week’s U.S. Open golf tournament at Oakmont Country Club.

Borough officials released a map specifying 23 roads between Eight Street and the Pennsylvania Turnpike overpass that will be unavailable for on-street parking aside from residents who live there.

Residents who live on roads where parking is restricted should have received the letter, along with three parking passes per household.

“Whether they have a long driveway or no driveway, they’re getting three parking passes,” borough Manager Scot Fodi said.

If a car is parked on any of the restricted streets without a parking pass, it will be towed, borough police Chief Michael Ford said.

Residents requiring more than three parking passes can contact the borough through a direct extension in the borough’s phone system (press 1). The borough has also created a specific email for inquiries from residents of those roads about U.S. Open parking.

The USGA sent a letter and three parking passes to residents living on the streets highlighted in red on this map. Parking on those street will be allowed only with a pass. The map also denotes traffic and parking changes/limitations on other streets during the 2025 U.S. Open.

Parking restrictions and the use of parking passes only affects those who live on the restricted roads, according to a social media post from the borough.

For residents outside the restricted parking zone, “do not worry about parking on the street,” Fodi said.

There will be traffic restrictions and signage denoting how residents and drivers can enter and leave streets. While Hulton Road will remain open, people will be unable to access it from Ninth, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th streets.

People using Uber, Lyft or other driving services to get to and from the event will be dropped off and picked up in the 10th Street Elementary School parking lot.

“That is it,” Fodi said. “No one’s going to get dropped off in front of the country club.”

Crosswalks across Hulton Road will be made available for pedestrians walking to the tournament. Those walking will be directed to enter the tournament through a part of the Presbyterian SeniorCare property, Fodi said.
