As October approaches, commuters driving through Oakmont may see some roadwork as PennDOT wraps up a string of evening jobs in the borough.

A. Folino Construction has been completing work for PennDOT’s ongoing road reconstruction throughout September. The work will continue into the beginning of October, impacting Allegheny Avenue and Allegheny River Boulevard in Verona and Oakmont.

Ongoing milling and paving will continue through Thursday from Center Avenue to Jones Street and Ann Street to Hulton Road. Paving from Jones Street to Hulton Road will start Friday and continue through Oct. 8.

All work will occur at night, starting at 6 p.m.

Stormwater infrastructure construction along Washington Avenue will take place starting Monday.

The project, which has been postponed twice, is expected to last about five to six weeks.

The stormwater infrastructure work is expected to take about three weeks. Paving will begin immediately after that work is completed. The paving is expected to take an additional two to three weeks.

Traffic will be restricted to a single, alternating lane during the day while work is active. The site will be plated at night, borough officials said.

The company has been completing projects in the borough and surrounding communities, including overnight work to repair Coxcomb Hill between Hulton and Logans Ferry roads through Plum, and along Allegheny River Boulevard from Penn Hills through Verona.
