Drivers commuting through Oakmont can expect to see some ongoing roadwork in the coming weeks.

Borough officials announced a tentative start date of Sept. 15 for stormwater infrastructure construction along Washington Avenue.

The project, which had been postponed last month, is expected to take about five to six weeks to complete.

The stormwater infrastructure work is expected to take about three weeks. Paving will begin immediately after that work is complete. The paving is expected to take an additional two to three weeks.

Traffic will be restricted to a single, alternating lane during the day while work is active. The site will be plated at night, borough officials said.

A. Folino Construction will be doing the work.

Borough Manager Scot Fodi said the company has been completing projects in the borough and surrounding communities, including overnight work to repair Coxcomb Hill between Hulton and Logans Ferry roads through Plum, and along Allegheny River Boulevard from Penn Hills through Verona.
