A note posted on the door at Patron Mexican Grill in Fox Chapel Plaza thanked patrons for their business.

An O’Hara restaurant has permanently closed.

Patron Mexican Grill in Fox Chapel Plaza along Freeport Road posted a sign announcing the closing on its locked front door.

The notice offers no explanation for closing and read “we are closed for good.”

The letter, written by owner Martin Bolanos, went on to thank area customers for “making us a part of your daily routines as well as your special occasions.”

Thanking patrons for their support, the sign read, “To the Fox Chapel Community, we appreciate the support you have shown us, especially during these difficult times.”

The notice said the Pittsburgh-based chain’s other four locations in Pine, Monroeville, Cranberry and East Liberty will remain operational.

A closing date was unavailable, and multiple attempts to reach management were unsuccessful.

According to Patron’s website, the eateries are owned by Bolanos, originally from Michoacan, Mexico, who opened his first Patron Mexican Grill in 2007 in Pine, later expanding to locations in O’Hara, Monroeville and East Liberty.

The last social media post for the O’Hara location was on Aug. 28 and didn’t reference closing.

In April, a sign was posted at the O’Hara location notifying customers of an impending closure scheduled for May 2, but the restaurant didn’t close and continued operating throughout the summer.
