A Philadelphia man accused last year of sexually assaulting two girls in Harrison was sentenced to prison after accepting a plea bargain Monday in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.

Willie James Porter III, 46, was sentenced to six to 12 years for rape of a child and five years of probation for two counts of corruption of minors.

The assaults were reported in February when the girls were 12 and 15, according to a criminal complaint filed by Allegheny County Police. The girls told investigators the assaults had happened between February and June 2014 when Porter was living in Harrison, the complaint said.

Eight other charges against Porter were dropped in exchange for Monday’s plea.

He will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law for the rest of his life, records show.

Records show Porter was given credit for serving 280 days in the county jail.
