A power outage affected West Tarentum residents and businesses on Tuesday.

The power went out around 8 a.m., according to Councilwoman Lou Ann Homa. The borough expected electrical service to be restored by noon, she said.

The borough said on its Facebook page that West Penn Power was doing line work on the Tarentum portion of the grid that serves East Deer.

“Our office did not receive adequate notice from West Penn regarding this planned outage,” the borough wrote. “We apologize for not providing advance notice to businesses and residents.”

A West Penn spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment.
