Plum, Oakmont and Verona residents ages 16 and older will be able to get vaccinated at covid clinic Wednesday, May 12.

The first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be available from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Oblock Junior High School, 440 Presque Isle Drive in Plum.

The second shot will be given on June 2 at the same times at the same school. Additional time slots may be added based on demand.

More information, including a scheduling form, is available at pbsd.net.

The vaccines will be administered through Giant Eagle Pharmacy.

The clinic was organized by the Plum and Riverview school districts.

“Although the pandemic has been extremely challenging, it has also been a catalyst for out-of-the-box thinking and the forging of new partnerships,” Riverview Superintendent Neil English said via email. “Plum and Riverview have worked collaboratively throughout this health crisis to enhance programming and to offer additional resources to both communities. We hope to continue this collegiality and collaboration well after the pandemic has ended.”

Plum Superintendent Brendan Hyland believes the partnerships and clinics will be a great way to help a lot of people.

“Dr. English and I have been reaching out to each other throughout this pandemic and helping each other as much as we can,” Hyland said via email. “Dr. (Renee) Richardson from Giant Eagle reached out and asked if we wanted to have a clinic for our students who were over 16 years of age.

“We asked if we could open it up to our communities and she said absolutely.

“Our boards and our teams thought it was a great idea, so we all worked together and good things happen when there is a sense that we are all in this together.”
