Students return to classes Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Plum School District’s Pivik Elementary School.

Students in Plum School District returned to the classroom on Wednesday for the beginning of the 2025-26 school year.

Several pupils at Pivik Elementary School, which hosts kindergarteners through fourth graders, sprinted off the bus in anticipation.

Over the summer, the district began planned improvements at Plum Middle School and proceeded toward its overhaul of O’Block Elementary School.

Recently, Plum School Board promoted and hired several new principals throughout three district schools.

The district also announced its plans to begin using weapons detection systems at certain district schools and events starting this school year.

The last day of school is set for May 29.
