Plum’s Monday Market opened its fifth season with some familiar vendors — but a new time.

Jim and Kay Bridge, the husband and wife team behind Bridge’s Farm in Plum, had their tables full of produce and other plants on June 6. Penn Hills-based Pappy’s Gourmet Popcorn, Oakmont Olive Oil Co., Daugherty’s Orchards, Tom’s Candy, Morning Glory Farms and Bushy Run Winery also returned.

Stephanie Meyers and daughter Cassie, both of Penn Hills, visited Julie Cardiff of the Penn Trafford-based The Wax Mill.

The mother said she was very impressed with the soy candle selection.

Cardiff said she enjoyed her first time at the Plum market and looks forward to meeting new people.

The market is open from 3 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Sept. 26 at Plum Creek Park, along New Texas Road across from the borough building. It was open until 7 p.m. last year.

Attendees said the scaled-back time frame helps families enjoy the market and also focus on the various youth baseball games also taking place at the park.

There is no market July 5 or Sept. 5 because of holidays.

More information about the market is available on the borough’s website at plumboro.com.
