A Mustang and a Maserati along with $15,000 worth of drugs, body armor and nearly $36,000 in cash were seized during a raid Monday at a Lower Burrell auto repair shop and a home in Plum, according to authorities.

A team of agents and police officers from New Kensington and Lower Burrell executed a search warrant at B&M Automotive in the 300 block of Greensburg Road.

They arrested Darryel Deshawn Sanders, 49, of the 500 block of Kellywood Manor in Plum, according to a criminal complaint.

Sanders was charged with five felony counts of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver, according to his arrest papers. He also faces two felony counts related to using money from drug sales to buy the vehicles, which were confiscated, along with seven misdemeanor drug charges.

In his arrest papers, Sanders was described by investigators as “at a minimum a mid-level drug trafficker.”

While searching the business, investigators said they found a black camera bag in a desk next to a 6.5-gram bag of suspected crack cocaine.

Inside the bag were:

• 39.1 grams of cocaine

• 20 grams of methamphetamine

• 50 Suboxone strips

• 30 amphetamine capsules

• 12 fentanyl pills

• 2 Point Blank body armor vests

• 2 digital scales

After discovering the drugs, police got a second search warrant to continue looking through the business. They seized a third digital scale along with state vehicle inspection documents and inspection window stickers.

Police arrested Sanders and found $2,601 in cash split into four bundles when he was searched along with multiple state Access cards that were not issued to him. The cards are used to obtain welfare benefits.

A Westmoreland County Drug Task Force agent obtained a search warrant for Sanders’ house in Plum, where they found 214 oxycodone tablets, a digital scale and nearly $33,300 in cash, the complaint said.

Sanders was released from the Westmoreland County jail after a bail agency posted a $50,000 bond on his behalf. He faces a preliminary hearing Feb. 7 before District Judge Cheryl Peck Yacopek, according to court records.

Sanders pleaded guilty in November 2006 to 16 drug charges, including three felonies, that were filed by Plum police. He was sentenced to three to six years in jail and three years of probation, according to court records.

In May 2005, Sanders pleaded guilty to a simple assault charge filed by Monroeville police. He was sentenced to a year of probation, court records show.
