A Frazer woman with a prior conviction for selling drugs was ordered to stand trial on charges she was using heroin while caring for two children.

Brandy Marie Kralik, 38, of the 100 block of Snyder Lane was charged Jan. 27 with two felony counts of endangering the welfare of children along with counts of making terroristic threats, simple assault, institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct and prohibited acts.

She was released from custody after posting a $5,000 nonmonetary bond, according to court records.

Following a preliminary hearing before District Judge David Sosovicka, she was ordered to stand trial on the charges in Allegheny County Court. Formal arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, March 30, court records show.

Frazer police wrote in a criminal complaint charging Kralik that officers responding to her home for a domestic incident about 6 p.m. Jan. 27 found her outside the house staggering. Police said she spoke slowly when officers questioned her and appeared to be under the influence.

The father of the two children she was caring for told police that he was at work when he got a text from one of the kids telling him that she was “acting crazy,” the complaint said.

When the man went to the house, he found Kralik “kicking the walls, kicking the bed and throwing coffee everywhere,” the complaint said. He called police when she refused his order to leave the house.

Police said Kralik was arrested when they found a hypodermic needle, two empty stamp bags labeled “Dunkin Donuts” along with several pills and drug paraphernalia “out in the open” when they went into the home, according to the complaint.

Kralik had a purse when she was taken into custody and asked officers if she could keep it with her, the complaint said.

Police said they found an empty stamp bag marked “Pringles” in a Coach wallet that was inside the purse.

A 17-year-old who was in the house told police that Kralik threatened to “smash her face against the wall” if the teen didn’t allow her to use her cellphone, the complaint said.

Police said Kralik admitted to hitting a 12-year-old in the body hard enough to leave marks.

Kralik also is accused of repeatedly kicking and denting the door of the cell where she was being held, which resulted in the institutional damage charge.

Previous drug conviction

In February 2020, Kralik pleaded guilty to two felony counts of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver. She was sentenced to four to 23 months in jail.

Kralik was one of two woman accused of buying crack cocaine from a New Kensington house an hour before authorities raided it in October 2019.

The raid shut down what police described as the base of a drug ring that sold fentanyl.

Kralik and five other people were arrested after investigators said they found 1,400 stamp bags of the powerful synthetic opioid painkiller fentanyl inside the home, along with crack cocaine, marijuana, nearly $700 in cash, an unregistered gun and drug paraphernalia.
