An Apollo man is facing charges after, police say, he swallowed two live rounds of ammunition and caused a disturbance Thursday.

According to police, they were called to Mid-Town Plaza along Route 66 in North Apollo, where they encountered Nicholas Rosselle, 33.

Kiski Township police say Rosselle appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and became combative when they tried to take him to a hospital.

At the hospital, it was confirmed Rosselle swallowed two live hollow-point bullets.

Rosselle was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

A preliminary hearing is pending before District Judge James Andring in Leechburg.
