An Arnold man accused of selling heroin and cocaine is also accused of keeping a handgun in a child’s bedroom , police said.

Elbert Lewis Thompson II, 30, of Leishman Avenue was arrested Monday after allegedly pushing a police officer on a porch, fleeing upstairs, and coming out holding a baby in his arms.

Thompson was convicted of armed robbery in 2011, so he isn’t allowed to have a firearm or ammo, anyway.

A loaded Glock semi-automatic pistol, two digital scales with cocaine residue, four bottles of allergy medicine containing codeine and testosterone gel were found in a child’s bedroom, according to a criminal complaint.

Police also found about $3,300 in cash, 262 individual packets of heroin, about one ounce of cocaine in the apartment, according to the complaint.

About two grams of marijuana was also found in the apartment, according to the complaint.

Thompson is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, five drug charges and a firearms violation, according to the complaint.

District Judge Frank Pallone arraigned Thompson Tuesday in New Kensington.

Pallone ordered Thompson held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $100,000 cash bond pending a preliminary hearing.
