Police: Couple caught having sex in truck tractor idling along Route 28 on-ramp; gun, drugs found inside
State police accused a man of selling drugs and illegally carrying a gun after a pair of troopers pulled up on a truck tractor parked on a Route 28 on-ramp in Harrison while the man was in the cab having sex with a woman.
William Bruce Greiner, 49, of the 1000 block of West Fourth Street in Parks Township is charged with a felony count of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver. Greiner also faces 11 other criminal charges that include carrying a gun without a license, promoting prostitution, driving under the influence and drug possession.
Greiner faces a preliminary hearing on the charges before District Judge Carolyn Bengel on Nov. 30, according to court records, which show the charges were filed against him by summons. He did not have a lawyer listed in court documents.
State police wrote in a criminal complaint charging Greiner that two troopers were on patrol shortly after 12:30 a.m. March 19 when they saw a Freightliner truck tractor parked along a Route 28 on-ramp in Harrison with the motor running but no hazard lights on.
One of the troopers said he had previous interactions with Greiner and that he was known to police for giving women heroin, crack cocaine and methamphetamine in exchange for sex, the complaint said.
A trooper said he spotted a pair of used hypodermic needles while looking into the cab after seeing someone moving inside, the complaint said.
A bag of marijuana in an open dashboard compartment along with tools used to prepare meth for injection also were seen in the truck, police said.
The trooper said he also knew the woman who was with Greiner from a previous encounter. The trooper said she was the person who informed authorities about Greiner using the truck to trade drugs for sex, the complaint said.
The woman told police that Greiner had been shooting meth in the truck cab when troopers stopped. She said they had been planning to go to at hotel so he could get crack cocaine to compensate her for sex, according to the complaint.
Investigators said Greiner allowed them to search the truck, where they found a 9mm pistol loaded with five rounds of ammunition. He does not have a permit to carry a gun; he told troopers it belonged to his ex-girlfriend or her boyfriend and didn’t know it was in the vehicle, the complaint said.
While searching, troopers also found a bag with 7 grams of methamphetamine, a container with an unspecified amount of crack cocaine, a 7-gram container of medical marijuana and several packages of THC gummies, the complaint said.
Greiner told troopers he is a long-haul truck driver and bought the marijuana products in Illinois, the complaint said.
Police said they also found several joints in a cigarette pack and a pair of glass pipes with residue from smoking crack and meth.
Troopers said Greiner failed a series of field sobriety tests and agreed to allow blood to be drawn to test for the presence of drugs or alcohol in his system.
In addition to admitting to having the drugs in his possession, police say Greiner also provided troopers with text messages from his cellphone that show him arranging the sex-for-drugs deal.
