Police: Fawn woman faces assault charge after argument with teenager over phone
A Fawn woman faces felony charges after police accused her of hitting a teenager during an argument over a phone.
Dione Wright, 31, is charged with one felony count each of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children, and a summary offense of harassment, in connection to an altercation with a teenager Tuesday.
She is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
Fawn police wrote in a criminal complaint that, on March 26, they were dispatched to the 1800 block of Millerstown Road. Dispatchers told police that Wright said the teenager had a phone they should not have, and that she hit the teen with it after an argument ensued.
When officers arrived at the house, Wright had the teen on the ground by the hair, the complaint said. Wright told officers the teen had a phone and would not give her the pin number to gain access to it, police said.
The teenager had a swollen left eye and a swelling right eye, officers wrote in the complaint.
When questioned at the Fawn police station, the teen said Wright started an argument over the phone when they would not give her the password, the complaint said.
The teenager said Wright hit them in the face with the phone, grabbed their hair and punched them several times in the face, the complaint said. The teen said they fought back in defense, police said.
Eureka ambulance service went to the station, but the teen declined treatment, the complaint said. The teen went to school that day, and school police, CYF of Allegheny County, and PA Childline were notified of the incident.
The teen complained of injuries to school police and was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
