Editor’s note: The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office withdrew the charges Aug. 19.

West Deer police have charged a Kiski man with inappropriately touching a young girl several years ago.

Police said Scott Goedicke, 46, touched the girl when she was 5 or 6 years old. The girl, now 12, told police about the incident after it was reported to ChildLine.

Sgt. Darren Mikus said he went to the girl’s school on Feb. 18 to follow up on a ChildLine report that had been filed by the girl’s therapist a week prior, according to a criminal complaint.

Mikus said he spoke with the girl, who told him Goedicke had touched her inappropriately when she was 5 or 6 years old, the complaint said. The girl also told Mikus that she had recently told her mother about the incident.

The girl was later interviewed by a child advocacy specialist with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Her statement to the specialist was consistent with what she earlier told police, the complaint said.

Goedicke faces charges of aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, endangering the welfare of children, indecent assault and corruption of minors, according to online court records.

The charges weren’t filed until May 21 because of coronavirus restrictions, police Chief Jon Lape said.

Although Goedicke hasn’t been arrested, Lape said his attorney, who isn’t listed in court records, is aware of the charges.
