A Kiski Township man is in custody after an armed standoff with police on Sunday, according to a news release from the Kiski Township Police Department.

Joshua Reilly, 36, of Water Street was charged with terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, flight to avoid apprehension, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, resisting arrest, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia in relation to the incident, the release said.

Police said they responded to a call at 6:28 a.m. about a man firing a gun outside his Water Street home in the Village of Edom in Kiski Township, Armstrong County.

As officers responded, Reilly retreated into his home, where he continued to fire his weapon from a second-story window at nearby buildings, according to the release.

Reilly at one point walked out of his home with a shotgun in hand, making threats toward officers that he was going to kill the police and himself, the release said. That interaction continued for about 30 minutes before Reilly went back inside the home, police said.

The Pennsylvania State Police’s Special Emergency Response Team entered Reilly’s home and took him into custody, the release said. While being arrested, Reilly resisted arrest and spit at several officers’ faces, police said.

One pound of methamphetamine, marijuana, additional guns, a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia were found in the home, according to police.

Police from Washington Township, Vandergrift and Gilpin, along with state police from the Kittanning and Kiski Valley barracks, assisted Kiski Township police, authorities said.
