Police: Pair arrested in Upper Burrell; crystal meth, $15K, stolen gun confiscated from home
Two people arrested at an Upper Burrell home face multiple felony drug and weapons charges after police said they found more than 2 ounces of crystal meth, a stolen handgun and other evidence of drug dealing during a search of the home.
Djuan “Chiz” Osceola Williams, 42, of the 7000 block of Lemington Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood, was charged with a number of felony counts. They include illegal possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property, criminal use of a communications facility and four charges of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver. He also faces a charge of resisting arrest and four other drug-related charges.
Williams was taken to the Westmoreland County jail in lieu of a $150,000 cash bond, according to court records. He faces a preliminary hearing before District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr. on May 5.
Police also arrested Brittany Nicole Robinson, 32, who owns the Upper Burrell home, which is in the 400 block of Perry Lane and was searched by police.
Robinson was charged with felony counts of illegal possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property, and three charges of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver, along with three other drug-related charges.
Information about whether Robinson was in custody was not available from authorities. A date for a preliminary hearing before Pallone had not yet been scheduled.
Agents from the state Attorney General’s Office and the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force, which includes local police, used an informant to call Williams to arrange to buy 2 ounces of crystal methamphetamine April 13 at a predetermined location, according to the criminal complaint.
Officers in plain clothes spotted Williams outside Robinson’s home on Perry Lane while he was retrieving the mail and approached him, police said. He took off running toward an abandoned mobile home where he was captured, the complaint said.
Police said they found a plastic bag with 57 grams of crystal meth in a hole in the floor of the trailer’s bedroom.
Investigators said Robinson, who came outside of the house on Perry Lane and asked why Williams was being arrested, told police the property is owned by her late father but she does not live there, according to her arrest papers.
Police got a search warrant after Robinson refused to allow police to search the home.
Authorities said they searched a bedroom and found bags containing 6.3 grams of crack cocaine, 9.6 grams of crystal meth and 6.3 grams of suspected fentanyl pills.
They also found a digital scale and 10 packets of fentanyl labeled “Passion,” according to the arrest papers.
Police said they found a Glock 9 mm pistol, which had been reported stolen, in the oven.
A box of 9 mm ammunition, an extended magazine for a 9 mm handgun and $262 also was confiscated from the kitchen, according to the complaint.
Authorities said $15,000 was found in the bathroom.
Police noted in Williams’ arrest papers that he was convicted on a felony drug charge in May 2008 and is not permitted to own a gun.
