One man is dead after a shooting in New Kensington early Saturday morning, a spokeswoman for the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s office said.

The shooting at the Elks Club on Third Avenue was reported at 3 a.m., a Westmoreland County Public Safety supervisor said.

County detectives were called to assist New Kensington police around 3:30 a.m., said Melanie Jones, spokeswoman for District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli.

The man died from a gunshot wound, and the incident is being investigated as a homicide, Jones said.

No arrests had been made as of late Saturday morning, she said.

New Kensington police referred questions to the district attorney’s office.

Authorities were investigating, which Jones said included reviewing video.
