The driver of a vehicle escaped serious injury Monday after he went off the road and down a hillside along Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum.

The crash near the intersection of Kerr Road was reported around noon, according to Plum police Detective Joe Little.

Initial reports from emergency dispatchers said the man was ejected from the vehicle, which was sheared in half.

Little could not confirm those details but said the driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and that the vehicle was heavily damaged.

The road was closed for about an hour while crews pulled the vehicle up from the hillside and cleared debris.
