Portion of Burtner Road to close in Harrison and Fawn

A portion of Burtner Road in Harrison and Fawn will be closed through the end of the month for slide repair work.

The closure is expected to start at 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to PennDOT.

Work will target the portion of Burtner Road from Pleasantville Road to Bachman Drive. PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan said crews will install a block wall and work on shoulder reconstruction.

Traffic will be detoured along the suggested routes. They are:

South of the closure

• From Burtner Road, take the ramp to southbound Route 28 toward Pittsburgh

• Take the 366/Tarentum/New Kensington (Exit 14) off-ramp

• Turn right onto Bull Creek Road

• Turn right onto Ridge Road

• Follow Ridge Road back to Burtner Road

North of the closure

• From Burtner Road, turn onto Ridge Road heading south

• Turn left onto Bull Creek Road

• Turn left onto the ramp to northbound Route 28 toward Kittanning

• Take the Natrona Heights (Exit 15) off-ramp

Residents will be able to access their homes.
