Slide repair work on New Texas Road in Plum begins Tuesday.

PennDOT announced that New Texas Road, between Old Leechburg Road and Rosemary Hill Drive, will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. Tuesday until the end of June, according to a posting on the borough’s website.

A detour will take drivers north of the closure from New Texas Road left onto Leechburg Road, left onto Unity Trestle Road and then bear left onto Old Leechburg Road. They will follow Old Leechburg Road back to New Texas Road.

Drivers south of the closure will take the same detour but in the opposite direction.

Plum-based general contractor A. Liberoni, Inc. will handle the slide remediation work, paving and other construction activities, PennDOT said.

All work is weather-permitting.

Drivers should be cautious when traveling in the area.
