Shown here is a photo of Allegheny County public works crews replacing a cross-road drainage pipe. Similar work will occur in Butler County on May 16.

Motorists who travel along Saxonburg Road in Jefferson should allow extra time May 16 for a project that will close a portion of the road.

Crews will be replacing a large cross-pipe between Green Manor Drive and Mushrush Road.

The project is expected to take one day but work is weather dependent. The rain date is May 17.

The suggested detour is Saxonburg Road to State Route 356 South to Winfield Road, back to Saxonburg Road.

Motorists can check the status of work at 511PA.com.
