Highlands students were the target of a possible threat Wednesday, district officials said.

Families were alerted by a robocall that the district was investigating a threat against certain students at the middle school and high school.

It was not clear which students were the subject of any threats.

High School Principal Laura Burns said the district was taking proactive measures to investigate and address any safety issues.

“The district’s processes are in place to maintain the safety and security of our students and staff,” Burns said.

No other information was immediately available.
