Route 66 in Parks Township reopened to traffic Wednesday after a landslide forced its closure earlier this month.

Route 66/River Road in Parks Township reopened Wednesday morning when crews completed cleanup of a mudslide, according to PennDOT.

A portion of the road between Vandergrift and Leechburg closed April 3 because of the slide, caused by days of heavy rain that led to flooding throughout the region.

Crews will continue cleaning up the hillside next to the road, so motorists may experience brief delays with one-lane restrictions and flagging to direct motorists, according to PennDOT.
