Route 28 motorists will encounter lane restrictions in Harmar beginning Friday.

The restrictions, expected to last until Monday afternoon, will occur on two bridges so crews can perform work on expansion dams and the approaches to the bridges, according to PennDOT.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Friday and running continuously through 3 p.m. Monday, restrictions will occur in both the northbound and southbound lanes on the bridge over Route 910 at the Harmar/I-76/Route 910 (Exit 11) interchange and on the bridge over the Pennsylvania Turnpike, about 1 mile north of the Harmar/I-76/Route 910 (Exit 11) interchange.

The work is part of the $27.68 million highway restoration project on Route 28 between the Harmar and Russelton/Creighton exits. Work is expected to conclude in early 2024. Swank Construction Co. is the prime contractor.
