Power lines near the intersection of Wildlife Lodge and Leechburg roads in Lower Burrell have been pulled down twice within the past three days.

The power lines and a utility pole near the Dunkin’ in Lower Burrell can’t seem to catch a break.

Crews responded to the intersection of Wildlife Lodge and Leechburg roads, where people can turn into the Burrell Plaza parking lot from Wildlife Lodge, for downed power lines Tuesday morning — two days after crews responded to a similar call.

The Sunday morning incident occurred when a U-Haul driver’s truck struck the lines and took them down. On Tuesday, a Dunkin’ driver dropping off stock at the store pulled down the lines while turning into the parking lot, said Lt. Grant Imbarlina of Lower Burrell Volunteer Fire Company No. 3.

“The first time was an accident, the second time was not having clearance when he thought it had clearance,” Imbarlina said.

“It’s the same pole both times.”

A generator was used to restore power in the area. Verizon, which cut the lines, and West Penn Power are investigating.

In addition to the fire company, Lower Burrell police and EMS responded to the scene.
