A motorcyclist was killed after a crash with a school bus Wednesday in Jefferson Township, Butler County.

Knoch School District said a bus of elementary school students, who were being driven home, collided with a motorcycle near the intersection of Victory and Dinnerbell roads.

The motorcyclist, a 79-year-old man from Saxonburg, was killed in the crash, Butler County Deputy Coroner John Hanovick told TribLive news partner WTAE. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

None of the students or the driver on the school bus were injured in the wreck, Knoch officials said.

The district said elementary school principals accompanied students on their trip home from the scene in another bus.

School counselors will be available at the elementary schools Thursday, district officials said.
