Sylvester “Syl” Damianos, 91, a resident of Longwood at Oakmont, speaks during an interview at the retirement complex in Plum on Jan. 3. Sylvester crafted an 18-foot spiraling sculpture titled “Peace and Freedom,” which he donated to Longwood.
