A stretch of River Road in North Apollo and Kiskiminetas Township (routes 56 and 66) in Armstrong County will be shut down from Oct. 17 until the end of the month for bridge work, PennDOT announced.

Work on a $4.9 million replacement for Glorietta Bridge #2 at Lackey’s Dairy Queen along River Road is scheduled to conclude by Oct. 29, according to the state transportation agency’s District 10 office.

The project will include replacement of the culvert, the road surface and guiderails as well as drainage improvements and other upgrades.

A posted detour using Route 56 to Route 356 to Route 66 will guide motorists around the construction zone.
