A Springdale man faces criminal charges after, police say, he threatened to fight officers and his neighbors.

William Vokes II, 23, faces three counts of terroristic threats — one of which is a felony count— and one count each of vandalism, resisting arrest, defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, filed by Springdale police according to court documents.

Police wrote in Vokes’ arrest papers that they were dispatched to the 200 block of James Street at midnight on Saturday for a man in the middle of the street, who was screaming at and threatening neighbors.

Officers attempted to speak with Vokes, but he was irate, police said. Police noticed a “strong odor of alcohol” coming from Vokes, and they detained him, according to a criminal complaint.

One neighbor told police he was inside his home with friends when they saw Vokes on their front porch, police said. The neighbor told Vokes to leave, but Vokes did not and instead threatened to fight them, the complaint said.

At the police station, Vokes threatened officers, urinated in the cell, slammed himself against the door and hit the window, his arrest papers said. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 16 before District Judge David Sosovicka.
