After a standing-room-­only meeting late last month, Springdale’s Planning Commission will come together again Wednesday to consider a massive proposed data center in the borough.

The commission postponed a vote on whether to recommend borough council approve or deny a developer’s application at the previous meeting, opting to further analyze the details of the project.

Commissioner David Prevost said Monday he doesn’t know whether the panel would offer its final recommendation this week.

If the commission does come to a decision, the project would then be considered by Springdale Council at a public hearing set for Oct. 16. There, council could vote to conditionally approve or deny the proposal.

Pennsylvania municipalities typically have 60 days after the first public hearing to vote on a conditional use application.

Though several local officials have voiced support for the project, many residents have voiced concerns about the center’s potential effects on the community.

Wednesday’s meeting is set for 7:30 p.m.
