State police are investigating a crash involving a black Hyundai SUV that flipped into a ravine in Fawn.

The crash occurred before 8 p.m. Friday outside of Greg Keener’s home at 2912 Howes Run Road.

Keener was inside with three relatives when the crash occurred. The family said they did not see the crash, but could hear it.

Based on the aftermath, Keener said a woman veered off the road onto a small bridge that leads to his driveway, knocked over his mailbox and ended roof-side down a few feet away.

It’s not the first time someone hit the bridge.

“Our bridge is tiny here, so we’ve had some wheels off and stuff,” Keener said. “I was shocked, but not necessarily that surprised. … This is first time we’ve ever had a car flipped in the creek that we know of.”

The SUV sustained major damage to its front end. The driver-side wheel was bent and multiple airbags deployed.

State Police on the scene declined to release any information.

The driver, a woman, was treated by medics. Her condition was unclear Friday night. Harrison police and Fawn firefighters also responded.

First responders began clearing out and reopening the road around 8:45 p.m.
