State police accused a man of dealing drugs after, police say, they found nearly 9 ounces of marijuana in his car during a traffic stop in North Buffalo Township.

Bradly Alan Wiles, 35, of Oliver Road in Boggs Township, Armstrong County, was charged with one felony count of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver along with five related charges, including driving under the influence, speeding and careless driving in connection with the Dec. 22 incident, according to a criminal complaint.

Wiles was released from the Armstrong County Jail after posting a $30,000 bond. He faces a preliminary hearing on Jan. 4 before District Judge J. Gary DeComo.

A state police lieutenant conducted a traffic stop along Route 422 after seeing a grey Chevrolet sedan traveling at about 92 mph in a 55 mph zone, the complaint said.

A trooper who assisted with the stop said Wiles’ eyes were bloodshot and glassy when he got out of the car and agreed to undergo a field sobriety test. The trooper said Wiles showed signs of impairment and took him into custody for driving under the influence.

While handcuffing Wiles, the trooper asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, according to the complaint.

Wiles initial responded no, but then said: “yea, there is some weed in the vehicle,” the complaint said.

He told the trooper there was a few ounces tucked under his jacket on the rear seat of the car that he was “delivering to a friend,” according to the arrest papers.

Wiles gave the trooper permission to retrieve the marijuana and agreed to have a blood sample drawn to determine if he was intoxicated, the complaint said.

The trooper confiscated about 275 grams of marijuana during the arrest.
