State police charged a Parks Township man with theft after, they say, he tried to sell a camping trailer that he didn’t own.

Brandon John Krawczyk, 38, of the 1100 block of Laurel Point Lane faces two felony counts of theft by unlawful taking along with drug possession.

Krawczyk is being detained in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond, according to court records. He faces a preliminary hearing on the charges before District Judge James Andring on Wednesday, June 22.

Troopers responding to a June 10 call for a disturbance at the intersection of Airport and Dime roads said two men were being detained at gunpoint by a property owner who told them he thought they were trying to steal the 32-foot 2004 Airlight trailer that is owned by a man from West Leechburg, according to a criminal complaint.

The property owner told police that Krawczyk arrived shortly after he detained the two men, the complaint said.

Troopers transported Krawczyk and the two men, whose names were not released, to the Kittanning station, the complaint said. The two men were released after being interviewed by investigators, police said.

Police filed the drug charge against Krawczyk after, they say, he left a bag with suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle used to transport him to the station for questioning.
