A Tarentum man pleaded guilty Monday to charges that he stomped on a woman’s head during an assault last year at an Arnold home.

Malachi Supreme Hayes, 26, was ordered to serve 11 1/2 to 23 months in jail but was immediately paroled after having served nearly a year in jail following his arrest.

He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of simple assault. One felony count of aggravated assault and a summary harassment offense were dismissed by prosecutors.

According to court records, Hayes punched the woman in the face, threw her to the ground and slammed his foot into her head during the altercation last April 12.

Police said the victim sustained a broken jaw and several dislodged teeth as a result of the attack.

Hayes also pleaded guilty charges in an unrelated case in which he was arrested last year in New Kensington. Police said he was in possession of drug paraphernalia and drove a vehicle with a suspended licenses and caused damage to an unattended vehicle. Hayes was ordered to serve one year on probation and pay $500 in fines.

According to court records, Hayes has a lengthy criminal record that includes a conviction for threatening a group of people with a gun in New Kensington in 2021 and for threatening a woman with a gun in 2018. In that case he served a 23-month prison sentence.
