Tarentum working to fix garbage collection problems
Tarentum officials say they are working to fix problems with garbage collection in the borough.
On its Facebook page, the borough on Monday said it knows there have been a number of missed pick-ups in recent weeks.
“The holiday collection schedule, in conjunction with staffing changes at Waste Management have caused several issues,” the borough said in a post. It said Waste Management “has recently appointed a new route manager and new drivers to Tarentum Borough.”
Waste Management spokeswoman Erika Deyarmin-Young said the company recently started serving Tarentum residents out of a new hauling site.
“We appreciate the patience of the borough and residents as our new team acclimates themselves to the service area,” she said. “We assure our commitment to providing regular and reliable service to residents.”
The borough asked residents whose trash is not picked up on their regularly scheduled day to leave their address in the comments on its Facebook post.
