Tarentum's Winter Market a chance for people support local vendors
Saturday’s frigid temperatures may have kept many people from venturing outdoors to visit the Winter Market in Tarentum, but those who did brave the cold found a nice variety of locally made crafts and gifts from which to choose.
The market, which benefits Central Presbyterian Church in Tarentum, was held in the Murphy Building on Corbet Street. It featured handcrafted specialty items from Silks by Chele, 13th Hour Jewelry, Wreaths and More by Carla and Just Us Gifts.
Also participating where the Community Library of Allegheny Valley, Twice Loved Jewelry and the Alle-Kiski Valley Sports Hall of Fame, which is housed in the Murphy Building.
Local authors George Guido, Cam Malcom, Doreen Putnam and Jim Turner also were on hand to sign books and discuss their work.
The next Winter Market is being planned for Saturday, Feb. 12.
