There is no tax increase projected in West Deer’s 2026 proposed budget.
With expected revenues and expenditures balanced at almost $9.8 million, millage is projected to stay at 2.90 mills. Homeowners with the median assessed property value of $122,000 would continue to pay about $354 on their property tax bill.
Large expenditures include a projected $3.14 million going toward police. More than $2.6 million is planned for public works, making up about 28% of expenditures.
The biggest sources of revenue are expected to be over $2.4 million in real estate taxes and almost $2.9 million in Local Enabling Act Taxes which include earned income tax, local service tax and business privilege/mercantile tax.
A $1 million road paving program is also budgeted for Monier Road, West Deer Street, Blanchard Road and possibly Hemphill Road.
Supervisors will continue to discuss the budget until its anticipated passage Dec. 16.
