Tarentum event to mark anniversary of American Revolution
The Alle-Kiski Valley Historical Society will honor the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution with an event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Heritage Museum 224 E Seventh Ave., Tarentum.
Speaker Megan Adams will discuss, “Massie Harbison: Caught in the Aftermath of the Revolution,” and Melissa Makofske will talk about “Daughters of Liberty.” Members of the American Revolutionary frontier reenactment group Proctor’s Militia will discuss their clothing, equipment and arms as they would have been in 1775.
Donations will be accepted.
Annual stamp and postcard show set in Plum
The Wilkinsburg Stamp Club will host its 75th annual stamp and postcard show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Holiday Park Volunteer Firehall, 415 Old Abers Creek Road, Plum.
