Resource expo open to veterans, dependents and spouses
West Deer American Legion and the Pennsylvania Department of Veterans Affairs will host a veterans resource expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion, 57 Superior Road, Russellton, West Deer.
Information about the federal Veterans Administration and state and county benefits will be provided to veterans, dependents and surviving spouses. A lunch will be at noon courtesy of St. Joseph Institute.
Fundraiser to benefit Harrison Police Department
A fundraiser to benefit the Harrison Police Department, “Pizza With a Purpose” will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars, 894 Veterans Lane, Harrison.
Sponsored by Kaley’s Kops, there will be a bake sale, basket raffle and a 50-50. Curtis and the Shakerz, acoustic artist Jim Hart and Doug Carnahan will perform. Donations will be accepted.
Freeport Theatre Festival to hold auditions
Auditions for the summer season at the Freeport Theatre Festival will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the theater, 2498 White Cloud Road, Allegheny Township.
Actors, especially female leading ladies with a comic flair and men who are experienced in physical comedy as well as scenic artists and designers are needed.
