Run on the River to benefit YMCA

Valley Points Family YMCA annual Run On The River will be June 12 at K-9 Officer Derek Kotecki Memorial Park, Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell. Events are planned for every age and skill level.

Registration fees are $25 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K. Prices go up $5 each after April 30. For more information and to register visit runsignup.com/Race/PA/LowerBurrell/RunOnTheRiver.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the YMCA’s Annual Support Campaign.


Community pet pantry available at Animal Protectors

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley in New Kensington has a community pet pantry that offers free pet food to those in need.

Wet and dry dog and cat food is available. Stop in from noon to 6 p.m. and ring the doorbell at the backdoor of the shelter, 730 Church St., or call 724-339-7388.


Lenape Tech to offer basic computer literacy class

Lenape Tech Adult Education in Manor Township will offer basic computer literacy classes from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays April 30 through May 21 at the school, 2215 Chaplin Ave.

Students will learn how to use the keyboard and mouse, install and start a software program, file management, and use Microsoft Word and Excel. Cost is $99.
